Reconnecting to with My Vows

So a month after our wedding I was participating in a JOY exercise and it suggested to go to a moment where you felt happy.

Automatically our wedding vows came to mind so I decided to read my vows out loud, as I read them they brought joyful tears to my eyes. I was so nervous on the day that I was just reading them to get them out.

Then I got my recorder out and just read the vows again but out loud and recorded them. It inspired me to be more creative and turn my voice recording vows into a visual diary of images I had just received from our photographer.

This is what I ended up creating…

Going through the process of making this video was so amazing because it was like recreating the moment for myself as I saw it flashing through my mind.

I wanted to share them to Tony as I knew he probably didn’t even remember them as both of our nerves were so HIGH.

So I sent it to Tony and here is his text back to me.

What I learnt from doing this JOY exercise is that you can truly go back to a moment in time and relive it in just as deep and meaningful a way as the moment itself.

As long as you connect to your breath.

As long as you connect to your heart.

You will be able to feel all the wonderful sensations you felt in that moment and maybe even more if you open your heart to feel.

Take a moment and share a joyful moment you have recently felt with someone… doesn’t have you to be your husband or partner. It can be any moment where you felt joy and you want to reconnect to that moment in time with that special person.
