FAVOURITE STYLE OF YOGA: Yin Yoga, this so far is the only style I have practised however looking forward to trying different styles after I give birth.
How often do you practice asana?
Once a week
How often do you meditate?
Have not started yet outside of yoga classes. However, I notice the immediate change of vibration within myself after a class and feel this is something I should take time out to achieve each day.
What did you think of yoga before you tried it for yourself?
I thought it was more for exercise and fitness, than mind and spirit and did not think it was something I could do at 6 months pregnant. However, this was a misconception and found it the perfect way to relax and my body and restore my energy.
Why do you LOVE practising yoga now?
I love practising yoga because I felt immediate benefits from it, in my first class. After walking out of that tent on my first lesson it was like someone had pressed a reset button within me and I was in a healthier and happier mindset. Even to have the time out from being a stay at home mum and do something for myself that incorporates self-love was hugely beneficial.
Do you think yoga has changed you in any way (yes or no) if yes ... WHY?
yes, I believe it has taught me coping skills and is a place of peace when I feel like I need a time out. To be able to change your vibration and frequency with techniques of movement and breathing has been a huge release for me. I would not have experienced these tools if I hadn’t given them a go!
What do you believe are the long term benefits of practising yoga? Mental and physical well-being
Do you recommend yoga to people, your friends, family? If so what is their response? Would recommend it to everyone!! I think every human being could benefit from practising yoga
Anything else you would like to share about yoga that you feel would help inspire others to start practising yoga?
No matter what your circumstance or fitness level give it a go! I did not think yoga was possible for me being pregnant and finding it uncomfortable just to sleep a certain way. However my first class I walked out of there feeling like a new person
