Motherhood Blessing Ceremony

What is a motherhood blessing ceremony?
Well, the intention is focused on having an intimate ceremony with the women in my life that have supported me through different stages of my life and that are a constant source of going love πŸ’•

The stages I have gone through have been a few to get to this point as I did not want children when I first met Tony. These women in my life helped inspire me consciously by being amazing women in my life that just support me through lots of various life events.

The ladies did such an amazing job decorating the Yoga Tent to make it look sooo beautiful inside… honestly I couldn’t believe it!!!

I would love to share in detail all the phases I have gone through mentally and spiritually to get to this point of consciously deciding to become a mama. As it took me a few years to get to this special day.

I believe all women become mothers in some form whether it is to birth your own, stepmothers, adopt, foster, become an auntie or have a woman that you look up to in your life as a person to go to for advice, love and support.

Not every woman has been blessed to birth a child in this life for a number of reasons and I just want to take a moment to acknowledge this because I feel very grateful to have a miracle growing inside me as in the end, it did become part of my life journey.

Sharing the circle with dear friends who currently cannot birth their own children meant a lot. As they like a lot of other women go through deep sadness and have to work through it alone or with their partners to come to a place of inner peace. It is a heartbreaking situation just like having a miscarriage or stillbirth which is why I felt it important to remind us all that we all struggle through the motherhood journey in different ways. Even choosing not to have children is a process that is not easy for women to make in our society. These women do not get a day to celebrate they sit quietly in the background being some of the best cheerleaders for other women who do journey forward.

I felt honoured to not just have women in my circle who are mothers but women of all ages and stages in their journey supporting me through mine with so much love and wisdom.

The circle was led by Amanda (Jo) who brought all her amazing instruments sound bowls/rainsticks/gong and more to do a sound ceremony and wrote the most beautiful blessing which brought me to tears 😭 whilst drinking our ceremonial cacao.

They all wrote me a lovely message on rocks for me to put in my garden to remind me of their wisdom they wish for me to embrace as I journey forward as a mother.

I love drawing mandalas and I follow a Yogi Artist Lara Zilibowtiz for years now she does beautiful mandala body paintings on naked pregnant women which look incredible.

I tossed this idea out there to Jo and she got some white henna from a local artist to use.

See how I held Mandala Workshops before in my Yoga Tent and taught most of the women in my circle how to do it and I just have really creative friends this part of the blessing process was so fun and beautiful to be the canvas.

Soon after this everyone had some white henna painted onto their body. Baby bump woke up at one point and started kicking at Syari while she was painting my tummy which was a super cute moment.

Receiving this beautiful massage πŸ’†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ oil on my hands, feet and head was so divine.

Honestly, at that moment I felt an overwhelming sensation of loving energy from all my closest friends.

After years of giving head massages πŸ’†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ to all my yoga πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ students, I finally got my moment to indulge and relax.

There were a few who couldn’t make it due to being sick 😷 and their presence was missed but was there in spirit and still to help organise the event by dropping things off which meant a lot!

More to share on this wonderful day in another post… stay tuned in
